It’s Father’s Day today. The kids did a foam picture frame to present to their father (or mother as it is after all Parents’ Month this month)

DIY Foam Picture Frame.

You’ll need half an A4 size of coloured craft foam. Place a smaller rectangle paper in the middle of that craft foam and draw a line along it.

Cut according to the line.

Paste a sheet of plastic over the cut out hole. Stick using cellophane tape.

Paste a coloured construction paper on a piece of rectangle hard board card. Paste double layered tape as shown above.

Paste the rectangle craft foam over the hard board card. Punch two holes on the hardboard card and tie ribbon.

Decorate as you wish. I’ve always loved ladybug as I believe it brings good luck. Refer here for the foam ladybug tutorial.

The DIY foam picture frame is done!

I’ve always loved the fine art of pottery. I wish to try pottery with the students but I can’t find a good enough clay yet.

In the meantime, remember the kids’ paper twisting project previously? Refer to it here. Let’s get them to train their ‘pottery’ skills using crepe paper instead 🙂

We will need a large toilet paper roll. Glue a cardboard at the base and let dry.

We’ll need lots of strips of crepe paper.

Twisting crepe paper is good to train the little kids’ motor skills and coordination.

Apply glue on the toilet paper roll and paste the twisted crepe paper, rolling and repeating with new strips of paper until you’ve covered the entire roll.

The kids busy with their masterpiece.

The completed crepe paper pencil holder.

The kiddo decorated it to be a colourful alien bunny ^_^

Another kid did this creative BEE!

Aren’t they beautiful? I’d be very proud to have them on my working station 🙂

He simply loves finger or hand painting 😀

Continue dotting the letter ‘U’

Teacher’s Day – Time to show our appreciation to the ones who have dedicated their time dedicating our children.

Let’s take a look at what one Crafty-Crafted Friend’s Mommy did for the recent Teacher’s Day celebration.

Here’s what Irene of http://zekerene.blogspot.com did 😀

Teacher's Day Gift

The genius part of her uses the floor tiles as a 'ruler' to measure and cut the material into smaller pieces. See? When crafting, all you need to be is CREATIVE 🙂 No ruler? Improvise. The floor tiles can even act as one! That's totally NEW to me 😀

She got lots of earrings and bracelets from Bali ready

She wrapped them up

And then she made some cards

The beautifully decorated and handwritten cards

Beautifully done 😀

Thank you Irene for the wonderful idea 🙂

A Crafty-Crafted Friend's submission of a cool storage box 🙂

Milton of Our Little Corners must have eaten ‘millions’ of popsicles for this project 😀 You may use craft sticks instead if you can’t get yourself to digest a million popsicles 😛

I’ll let the pictures do all the ‘talking’ here as he has definitely put in a lot of effort in this project! Words just can’t describe them 😀

So lovely, I likey 😀

Thank you Milton 🙂

There’s nothing a mother loves more than a handmade handprint flower bouquet from the little one. This Mother’s Day, let’s get the little tots to do something for us 😛

Mother's Day Handprint Flower Bouquet

Draw your handprint on various colour papers.

Cut them out.

Paste them onto a piece of paper; the handprint being the petals.

Arrange and paste them until they form a flower.

Cut a piece of felt as the stalk and some heart shape as the leaves. Paste them.

Done! A bouquet of handprint flowers for Mommy! Boy, he doesn't look too happy 😛 😀

Fresh flowers are beautiful but they don’t last. This is my first time venturing into making paper flowers. Instead of using tissue paper, I used crepe paper instead.

Crepe paper carnation

I used crepe paper instead of tissue paper and pipe cleaner instead of the floral wire.

Accordion fold the crepe paper. Fold it once from one side to the other and fold again.

Click here to learn more about accordion fold.

Loop the pipe cleaner in the middle and slowly pull and spread out the crepe paper.

I used pipe cleaner so that it can be looped around little girls' wrist as a corsage. Ideal as a wedding favor 😀

Mother’s Day is fast approaching. It will be nice to make a bouquet of this and present them to Mommies out there 🙂
