My boy loves the outer space. He found this picture online the other day.

He loves it so much that he printed it out. Since he loves it very much I thought of converting it into a piece of art.

We managed to make the above inspired by the picture that he printed out earlier.

We’ll need lots of recycled cardboard boxes. What I did was to cut the shapes of planets, meteorite and more out of those boxes. We brought those cut-outs to the Studio.

Got the kids to glue the shapes onto hard construction paper.

Paint the paper with lots of colors and let dry.

Lit a candle and drop the wax all over.

Paint over the wax drops. Paint the planets and the frame.

The artwork after painting. Let dry.

This is the fun part. Once dry, use a coin to scrape the wax off the paper to reveal colorful dots.

The kids and their space art πŸ˜€ Houston, we DON’T have a problem πŸ˜›

It’s Valentine’s Day in a few minutes time. We did a Valentine craft today. It is a Valentine’s Torch.

While we were thinking of what we wanted to project on the wall, I asked my boy what he knows about Valentine’s Day. His answer is simply CUPID! I do not know how to draw a cupid. Thank goodness we have a printer that we can simply google for a picture of cupid and print it out!

To see how you can turn these printouts:

Into a torch shown below:

You’ll need to check out this short 4 mins video of how my boy turned a simple printout into an amazing torch! πŸ™‚ The only thing I did was to cut the objects out for him. Enjoy!

We were privileged to be invited to dine at The Speakeasy Restaurant and Bar yesterday. The food is awesome but what caught my eyes the moment we were seated is their glow lights! I was at awe with their decor. It is all hand-made and I am telling you, this is really awesome! I finally found someone who loves craft as much as I do!

Just place a tea light candle in an empty bottle.

Stick a tape along creep paper and turn it inside out.

Place the creep paper over the bottle and there – a beautiful soft glow to illuminate the night.

I am truly amazed at Soraya’s creativity. This is only ONE out of her many craft work that I found that night. Shall share more with you as we countdown to Christmas! πŸ˜€

Let’s make a bird today. Not an angry bird but a cute one πŸ˜€

Toilet Paper Roll Bird

Paint a toilet paper roll any colour to your liking.

Paint your thumb white and stamp as the white eye. Paint your pointer black and stamp again as the eyeball πŸ˜€

Cut two triangles out of orange construction paper for the beak

Spread PVA glue all over the toilet roll

Now it’s the fun part – Sticking feathers onto the bird.

Instead of buying feathers from craft store, I bought a brand new feather duster and stripped the feathers from it instead. It’s much cheaper that way!
