This is a really fun craft that doesnt require any fancy materials. You’ll most likely have everything already at home. It’s also ‘magical’ and I’m sure your kids will love it!
Amazing Balancing Butterfly Craft
Card board from cereal boxes (or any other box)
Fold a coloured paper half. Draw one half of a butterfly making sure the top wings are way above the butterfly head to enable it to balance. This is also a good time to teach your child about the centre of gravity.
Cut and paste onto the card board. Cut again.
Decorate the butterfly.
Paste a coin each on the back of the top wings.
The butterfly should be able to balance itself now.
It can balance almost anywhere.
Your kids will have a whole lot of fun balancing the butterfly everywhere!
You can also make a balancing bird instead of a butterfly.
It’s just as beautiful and fun to play with. This is a great craft to make at any parties 🙂

I stumbled upon this great idea from Rainbowstarbooks for a goodie bag! The next time you have a party, why not place all the little goodies in a plastic bag and tie it up to look like a butterfly?
Simply great isn’t it?
Refer to the video we shared on how to cut letters from paper here and we’ll be making alphabet teaching aid again today.
Today’s lucky letter is B.
B is for Butterfly
Cut a B out of a piece of paper.
Use that paper B as a guide to draw the outline on a piece of colored foam
Use craft punch to punch out colourful circles and paste all over the B.
Accordion fold red packet butterfly
Cut the red packet as you'll need only a side and not both.
Fold it accordion style. You'll need to do two of this.
Pinch the middle and cut it into two different sizes.
Staple in the middle to secure it.
Spread the wings and your butterfly is done. Use a double sided tape to secure it onto your window panes or wall 🙂
If you have any butterfly ideas, do share it with us here and we’ll link it back to you 🙂
Kids just love to play with paint. Give them a brush and paint and just see them go.. Sometimes, with a little guide, we can help them create something nice. Here, we created a footprint butterfly.
Paint your foot to any colour you wish your butterfly to be. It may be ticklish to some..
Print your foot on a piece of paper.
Paint another foot and print it next to the initial print.
The wings are done.
Paint your finger with any colour to decorate the wings.
Just dot around the wings for added colour.
Have ideas on other art and crafts inspired from hand and footprint? Do share with us here. Thank you. 🙂
Remember the fingerprint bees we did not too long ago? Well, let’s develop it a little bit more and create a garden with butterflies and flowers.
Beautiful colourful fingerprint butterfly.
Paint your thumb with the colours of your choice.
Print it onto a paper as the butterfly's wings.
You may add in some flowers, leaves and the bees too.
Once it is all dried up, you will need to help the little ones decorate their garden a little bit using markers.
A beautiful fingerprint garden with butterflies, flowers and bees!
