Paper Plate Cotton Sheep

Paint a paper plate grey

Cut the sides and paste

Paint your thumb white

Dot as the eyes and paint the nose

Cut a pair of ears from white and pink paper

The face is done

Paste cotton balls on an empty paper plate

Paste the face to the body

Your paper plate cotton sheep is done

Plate Elephant

Draw a circle on a felt, any colour of your choice. Draw a line in the middle and cut so you will have two semi-circles.

Glue the semi-circles as the ears.

Cut a strip of paper and fold accordion style.

Glue the strip of paper as the trunk.

Glue two googly eyes and you are done

Have a paper plate to spare? Let’s do a rabbit

Paper Plate Rabbit

Cut a paper plate half. Cut two ears out of white paper and two smaller ears out of pink paper. Paste the pink on the white ears.

Paste the ears on the plate.

Paste a cotton ball as the tail.

Paste several strands of thread as the whiskers and draw the eye and nose.

Paper Plate Snowman

Come Christmas, all I can think of is a wonderful winter wonderland. Let’s get some paper plate and ‘build’ a cute snowman

Paper Plate Snowman

Glue two paper plates together. Put cloth pegs to secure it until the glue dries up.

I cut a carrot out of an orange foam for the nose. Glue it onto the snowman.

I cut circles out of green foam for the buttons. See my boy trying to photograph himself pasting the buttons here. He's learning to take over my job!

Use a hole punch to punch out tiny dots for the mouth.

I use felt for the scarf, pipe cleaner for the hands and foam and ribbon for the ear muffs. The snowman is ready to cheer up your wall. If you wish to convert it into a mobile, just do two of it and paste it back to back. Tie a string over it and hang. Nice

Footprint Rabbit

Playing Peek-A-Boo is never this fun! Using your footprint as the ear and handprint as the bush to hide in, let’s create a cute rabbit.

Footprint paper plate rabbit.

Draw an outline of your palm. Cut out several handprints. Use different shades of green for better effect.

Draw an outline of both of your feet. Cut. Cut out a smaller version in pink. Paste on top of the white footprint.

Paste the handprints as bushes. Add the eyes and your footprint paper plate rabbit is ready to hide and seek!

Ice-cream

Feeling all hot and craving for ice-cream? Try this ‘ice-cream’ that won’t melt! Of course it won’t melt, it is made of card board and paper plates.
Paint a paper plate red and another yellow. You may paint it any colour as you wish and you may paint as many plates you like. Each colour will represent a scoop on your cone!
Just the middle part will do. Once dried, cut out a ‘cloud’ shape from each colour to form the ‘ice-cream’

Get a recycle box to make the ‘cone’. Draw a cone shape and line it with markers or colour pencil.

Once all is done, paste them all together. I added some glitters on the top of my ice-cream as ‘toppings’!
Stick it onto a wall or anywhere as you wish. This ice-cream will never melt!

This chubby bee is very easy to do and looks so cute, all kids will love it!
You need to paint the back of one paper plate yellow.
And another paper plate black.
* Cut four stripes of black craft foam and paste onto the yellow paper plate.

* Cut the black paper plate into half and paste it at the back of the yellow plate as wings.

* Use pipe cleaner as the antennae and sting.

* Use googly eyes or stone as the eyes and you’re done!

Paper Plate Fish

This is the basic of all paper plate crafts. The simplest to do.
Use a craft scissors to cut out a small triangle. You may also use normal scissors if you do not have any craft scissors.
Stick the small triangle to form a tail.
Now here is the tedious part. I use a craft punch and punch out a thousand ‘hearts’ from old magazine pages and get Ethan to do the pasting.
Half an hour later, he is still pasting! LOL! You may opt to just color the fish instead.
Use a button, stone or anything you wish for the eye and it’s done!

You Are My Sunshine

On this hot sweaty day, let’s make the sun looks kinder and cuter so that we don’t hate it so much, shall we?

Start by tracing the hand on yellow paper. For small palm like Ethan’s, fold the A4 paper twice to get 4 equal parts. Cut out the hand prints. Paint a paper plate yellow.
Only the bottom part of the plate needs to be painted.
Glue the hand prints onto the painted plate.

Add details such as the eyes and a smile and the Sun is done!
Look at the little fella admiring his Sun amongst many other artworks on the wall!

The Owl

This is a little bit difficult for Ethan’s level. The only thing he managed to do is to hold down the centre section down until the glue dries up. Alternatively, you can just put a clothe peg to hold it down until it dries up.

On one paper plate, fold about a third of the plate over (have the bottom of the plate facing forward). This paper plate will be the owl’s head.

On the folded part, cut two short slits and fold them back up. (These will be the owl’s tufts – although they look like ears, they are only feathers. An owl’s ears are simple holes on the sides of the head).

Glue the center section down.

Glue or staple the head to another paper plate.

Cut another paper plate in half (these will be the wings).

Glue or staple the wings to the body at a slight angle.

Color in the owl, drawing feathers, wings, or other patterns.

I’m a little bit dissapointed with the result of my colouring as the owl looks way too UGLY! If you are going to try this, try colouring it better, just don’t end up like MINE!
