Since the little boy started school, it is a headache to think of what to make for him to bring to class.

I made this cute little cheese sandwiches the other day and he super loves it! Read the full entry here.
I have to think creatively now to add ‘excitement’ into his lunch box. I’m not into making a full-fledged bento. Too much hassle and I always believe, the more we handle the food, the more contaminated it can be -__-

We are enjoying the durian season here now. Durian is a very ‘subjective’ fruit. You either LIKE or HATE it! To those who loves it, you’ll find that it is very fragrant while those who hate it won’t even be able to bear the pungent smell
Anyway, no guessing to which side I’m at as that is what we are doing today

Footprint Durian

Paint your foot yellow

Stamp your painted foot onto a piece of art block

Paint the other foot

Stamp next to the first footprint

Paint the ‘skin’ and thorns

The durian is done

He’s one happy kid with his durian

Let’s do some salt painting today. You’ll need lots of salt, glue and some food colouring. Bare in mind though that this artwork won’t last so be prepared to explain to your kid that he can’t keep this in his gallery

Salt painting

First, I let him spread glue all over black construction paper.

Place the construction paper in a shallow container and pour salt onto the glue.

Dip a brush into food colouring and slightly touch the tip of the brush on the salt.
Pay attention to the salt. It will suck absorb the food colouring and kids are usually fascinated by it!

Next I spread glue onto a black construction paper. I spelled out his name
He poured salt all over it

It’s ‘magic’. Kids will be amazed I assure you

Ethan and his masterpiece
Too bad it will get runny almost immediately though

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.. Let’s make a star out of an egg today

Star Egg

We'll need a star shape silicon mould and a non-stick pan.

Break an egg in the middle of the star mould.

Add some water and cover with lid. A couple of minutes is all it takes for the yolk to completely cook. Decorate with sea weeds

A Crafty-Crafted Friend's submission of refreshing fresh fruit skewers.
Craft submitted by Anney of http://blogniako.blogspot.com/

Anney was planning to arrange the fruit skewers into a terracotta pot but she saw this picket fence planter box and thought it was cute.

She used a floral foam for the base and embellished the planter box with vines and a ladybug.

She used cookie cutters to cut out the shapes.

Pretty.. just too pretty. Use lots of heart shapes for this coming Valentine's Day

A Crafty-Crafted Friend's submission of a lovely cupcake bouquet.
Craft submitted by Anney of http://blogniako.blogspot.com/

Anney didn't use buttercream frosting for her cupcakes coz she was afraid it will melt and fall apart due to the hot weather. She used melted chocolate and colorful sprinkles. It set quickly and perfectly! She used a glue gun to attach the styrofoam ball into the embellished terracotta pot. She then glued some strips of green japanese paper all over the styro so it will not be visible and for a grassy effect.

She inserted bamboo skewers into the styrofoam ball and attached the cupcakes all the way around.
Merryn: Anney this is one very lovely food craft. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’m sure many will find this interesting and will be keen to do it for any party coming up
