Mushrooms! We love mushrooms! Today we are going to make a footprint paper plate mushroom 😀
Footprint paper plate mushroom
Cut a paper plate to the shape of a mushroom top
Paint the paper plate red.
While waiting for the paper plate to dry, paint your foot white or brown.. 😀
Stamp your painted foot on a piece of coloured construction paper.
Back to the paper plate. Paint a coat of diluted PVA glue all over the plate. This acts as an adhesive to hold the cotton later on and also as a varnish. Read here to learn more about varnishing using PVA glue.
Paste cotton balls
Spread the remaining PVA glue at the back of the paper plate
Paste it onto the footprint and the mushroom is done! Served with a bowl of freshly cooked mushroom soup, YUMMY! 😀
Meow! My boy loves cat and he’ll get excited each time we do a cat craft. Today, we did a cat pencil holder using a large toilet roll.
Toilet Roll Cat Pencil Holder
You’ll need a large toilet paper roll and egg carton as the ears.
Glue the ears to the toilet paper roll and let dry
Glue the toilet paper roll onto a hard board
Once dry, trim off the excess board
Paint it, inside out.
Twist a newspaper
Wrap it with masking tape
Glue cotton around it and paste as the tail
Dab your brush on the cotton to paint it
Paste eyes, nose and draw whiskers and your pencil holder made of entirely recycled materials is done! 😀
He loves it!
Today we are going to blast off to the moon 😀
Paint the foot any colours you like and the toes orange or any other colours that represents the flame of the rocket.
It should be something like shown above 🙂
Stamp the painted foot on a piece of paper.
Glue 3 triangles – 2 at the sides and 1 on top and the rocket is ready for blast-off!
He loves rockets! 😀
We will be going to the beach real soon for a holiday. Getting really excited! Today, we are going to make a turtle/tortoise out of egg carton to gear up for our upcoming getaway! 😀
Egg carton tortoise and turtle
Paint an egg carton cup any colour you like
Decorate it and let dry
Cut the body out of craft foams
Glue the coloured egg carton onto the craft foam.
Glue magnets at the back and you’ll get a cute fridge magnet! 😀
Ethan did a card for his Daddy today based on our Father’s Day Handprint Card.
Father’s Day Card
He drew his hand print
Paste the handprint and the heart. He wrote a message by himself.. aww…
Daddy is happy. Fully written by himself, my boy, turning four next month 😀
Happy Father’s Day to all daddies out there! 🙂
We are very excited today. We did a paper mache aeroplane! We can now build our very own toys! Yeay!
Paper Mache Aeroplane
Cut wings and tail out of paper plate and attach to an empty plastic bottle using masking tape.
Spread glue on the bottle and paste wet shredded paper. Repeat until the entire bottle is covered.
It is best to paste few layers to get solid and hard aeroplane.
Finish with a layer of white recycled paper and let dry.
Paint it with the colour of your choice.
Paint windows and all. Let dry and spray a layer of varnish to seal the paint.
He now has a new aeroplane to play with! 😀
